Affiliate disclosure
Short version: some links earn us a small commission. You never pay more, and it never decides what we list.
What an affiliate link is
Some links on SkipTheCAD go to shops and software companies that pay us a commission when someone buys through them. Examples are 3D printer brands, filament makers, Amazon, and a few paid generator tools. The price you pay is the same as when you visit the shop directly.
As an Amazon Associate, SkipTheCAD earns from qualifying purchases.
How you can tell
Affiliate links on this site carry the rel="sponsored" attribute, as search engines ask. Sections that recommend products end with a short note that they may contain affiliate links. When a generator itself has an affiliate link, its page says "affiliate link" next to the button.
What it does not change
- Which generators are listed. Free tools without any affiliate program make up most of the directory.
- How a tool is described. Every listing has honest cons, including paid tools we earn from.
- The order of results, which is based on how well known a tool is in the maker community, not on commission.
Tools we make ourselves
SkipTheCAD is run by SimplySolid3D, who also makes OrbitStudio and StellarMesh. Those listings carry a visible "Made by us" label. OrbitStudio is shown as a featured generator on the homepage because it is ours.
