Multicolor 3D print generators

These 186 generators make prints in more than one color. Most export a 3MF, which, unlike an STL, can hold several parts with a filament assigned to each, so the slicer can open the model with its colors already set. Others give you separate STL parts, or tell you at which layer to change color.

How you print them depends on your printer. Bambu Lab's AMS, Creality's CFS and Prusa's MMU feed several spools into one nozzle and switch between them during the print, so two colors can sit side by side on the same layer, like the roads, water and buildings in a Map2Model or TerraPrinter city. Each switch purges some filament and adds time. MakerLab's Image to Keychain, for example, downloads a 3MF that opens in Bambu Studio ready for an AMS.

Without one of those, you can still print many of these models. When the colors change by height, such as raised text on a plate, add a pause or filament change at that layer in your slicer and swap the spool by hand. Name Keychain Generator [NO AMS] needs one pause at the base height, the CNC Kitchen Gridfinity Label Generator suggests a change at layer 3, and HueForge, Kromacut and Filament Painter build whole pictures from stacked color layers the same way.

Some tools split the colors into pieces instead. Pixel Puzzle Maker puts each color on its own print plate, and the Customizable Name Sign Generator exports the base and the name as separate files that you print and press together.
