About this generator

The 3D Sign Generator makes three kinds of text sign. A desk nameplate comes with a separate stand base that holds the sign at a lean you choose, 15 degrees by default. A door sign is a thin plate with countersunk holes for 3 to 3.5 mm wood screws, or a flat back for mounting tape. A wall plaque is thicker, in a rectangle, arch or oval, with hidden keyhole slots on the back for a screw or nail.

You type one or two lines of up to 32 characters each, the second set smaller, and pick one of four fonts, the alignment and an optional raised frame line. Sliders set the width, height, border, corner radius, base thickness and letter height, and a live preview shows the size, the letter height and the layer for a filament change. Downloads are one STL, or a two-color ZIP for AMS or MMU printers.

It is free, needs no account and runs in your browser. The maker states that files made with 3D MakerBench may be printed and sold. It suits offices, classrooms and anyone making a name sign or house plaque as a gift.
