About this generator
printpal 3D Name Sign Generator is a free browser tool that builds a two-piece decor sign: one large capital letter with a name set into a shallow pocket on its front. You type the initial and a name of up to 20 characters, start from one of five style presets, and then choose the letter font and the name font separately from a menu of 11, covering serif, script, sans, a Minecraft-style pixel face and a couple of display faces.
Sliders set the letter height (30 to 200 mm), the name height, the overall depth, how deep the name sits, the fit tolerance of the pocket and the name's X and Y position, with a toggle between millimeters and inches. An auto-connect option joins the dots on i and j and links the letters so the name comes out as one piece, and a raised inlay setting lifts the name a little so your slicer can tell the two regions apart.
You download either one STL with both parts in place, meant for a multi-color slicer setup, or a ZIP with the letter and the name as separate STLs to print and glue. Your settings can also be saved as an OpenSCAD file. No account is needed, and the page says the files may be used commercially, so it suits nursery signs, gifts and small shops.
