What is Ruler Maker by Koolm?
Ruler Maker by Koolm is a free MakerWorld customizer that turns a short form into a printable straight ruler. Like Koolm's gear, screw and stamp tools, it runs an OpenSCAD script behind MakerWorld's Customize button. It has been customized more than 13,000 times and printed about 3,700 times.
You pick metric or imperial, set how many centimeters or inches long it is, then choose width, thickness and corner rounding. The markings section controls which ticks show, the numbering style, the font and how the numbers line up with the ticks, and the scale can run along one edge, both edges or mirrored from the center. You can upload an SVG logo and scale, move or rotate it, give the ruler and logo their own colors, and add a keychain eyelet or a storage hole. To skip the form, the author's ready-made profile has 10, 15, 20 and 30 cm rulers with embossed or inset markings in two colors.
Fine markings are the tricky part. Koolm suggests a 0.2 mm nozzle, fine or variable layer heights and top surface ironing so two colors on the same layer do not blur. It suits students who need a ruler by tomorrow, makers who want a pocket scale, and clubs or schools that want their own logo on one.
