What is Printed Canyon?

Printed Canyon turns a place or a GPX route into a 3D-printable terrain model or a printable poster. You search for a mountain, trail or town, pick a country or US state, or upload a GPX file of a hike, ride or race, and shape the result in a studio with a live 3D preview. The terrain comes from public elevation data.

For the 3D model, your route can be raised above the terrain, recessed into it, or exported as a separate part for a second color, and you can set the model dimensions and split large areas into several pieces. Downloads are STL, 3MF, OBJ or GLB, checked for printability. The same place can also become a poster in one of five styles (ridgeline, contours, strata, watershed or a celestial sky over the terrain), downloaded as PNG, PDF or SVG.

It is pay what you want, from $0, with an optional tip at checkout, and there is no account: the download link is the receipt and stays valid for 30 days. The terms allow personal and commercial use, as long as you follow the notices of the elevation and map data that come with each download. It suits hikers, runners and cyclists who want a print of a route they did, and anyone making a terrain gift.
