What is STL Buddy?

STL Buddy is a browser toolbox of 56 tools, about 50 of which turn a few choices into a printable 3D file without any CAD. The tools sit under headings like Personalize, Play & create, Useful prints, Edit a model, Organize and Cosplay, and most follow the same routine: type a name, pick from menus, move sliders or upload artwork, turn the 3D preview around, then download an STL or 3MF.

The range is wide. Bolt Factory makes metric or imperial bolts and screws with a matching nut and an adjustable thread clearance. Storage Tray Generator sets a compartment grid and tells you whether the tray fits your printer bed. Name Maker builds a large letter with a raised name that you print separately and seat in a recess. Other tools turn artwork into magnets, charms, clickers, cookie cutters or multicolor 3MF play cookies, add flexi joints or puzzle cuts to an STL you already have, or prepare a helmet for cosplay. An AI image-to-3D tool runs on its own credits and needs an account.

Designing and previewing is free in every tool, but only 12 of the 3D tools download without paying; the rest need a membership or credits. A few extras for sellers, such as an Etsy profit calculator, round it out. It suits hobbyists and small sellers who like having many quick personalized projects in one place.

How to use STL Buddy

1. Open All tools and pick a generator, such as Bolt Factory or Name Maker
2. Type your text, choose options from the menus or upload an image
3. Set sizes with the sliders and rotate the 3D preview
4. Pick STL or 3MF and download, using credits or a membership for paid tools
5. Check size, parts and colors in your slicer before printing
