What is Eldritch Foundry?

Eldritch Foundry is a browser character creator for tabletop miniatures that grew out of a 2019 Kickstarter. You build a figure by clicking through menus rather than sculpting: pick an ancestry such as human, elf, dwarf or goliath, then choose clothing, armour, weapons, a pose and a base. Preset heroes like a paladin or a mounted knight give you a head start, and a community gallery lets you open and remix characters other players have shared. A newer Bust Mode turns a character into a head-and-shoulders bust.

Building and previewing is free, and you pay when you want the file. A single STL arrives as a zip with the whole figure, the body alone and the base, at 34 mm heroic scale on a 1 inch base. The files are not pre-supported and are meant mainly for resin printers. Color painting, in beta as of September 2026, exports a 3MF aimed at full-color FDM printers such as Bambu machines. The Eldritch Unlimited subscription gives unlimited downloads and unlocks free-form posing.

It suits RPG players and wargamers who want a mini of their own character without learning to sculpt. The company also sells printed resin minis, but as of September 2026 the creator said physical production was on a short hiatus.

How to use Eldritch Foundry

1. Open the creator and start from a preset or pick an ancestry
2. Choose clothing, weapons, pose and base from the side menus
3. Optionally paint it in the Color menu (a beta feature) to get a full-color 3MF
4. Add the digital download to the cart and check out, or download with an Unlimited subscription
5. Unzip the files, add supports in your slicer and print
