What is A-Maze-Ring?

A-Maze-Ring is a free browser tool that designs two-part maze puzzle rings: an inner tube with raised maze walls and an outer sleeve whose small tooth rides through the passages. You pick a grid of 2 to 6 rows and 6 to 12 columns, press Generate new maze, then click single walls in a flat maze editor to open or close routes while a 3D preview updates beside it.

Sizing uses a US ring size list (US 3 to 13.5, 14.1 to 22.6 mm inside) and a ring height from 11.2 mm with two rows up to 31.2 mm. You can add side bulges and wavy rim edges, a marker behind the tooth such as a heart, star or cat head, up to five straight or wavy bands, and curved sleeve text of up to 96 characters per line, each raised or engraved. Export gives a bed-up STL or a 3MF with named parts, so the maze walls, rings and raised decorations can each get their own filament in Bambu Studio. Both parts sit on the bed already fitted together with 0.18 mm running gaps.

It is a young one-person project tuned on a Bambu Lab P1S with PLA, and its notes ask for a fit and slicer check after changing sizes. The code is public on GitHub but has no license. It suits anyone who wants a personal puzzle ring and does not mind a test print.

What you can make

  • Maze puzzle rings in US sizes 3 to 13.5
  • Rings with raised or engraved sleeve text
  • Rings with decorative bands and a marker shape
  • Multi-filament ring prints from the 3MF parts

How to use A-Maze-Ring

  2. Click walls in the maze editor to open or close passages
  3. Pick your US ring size and ring height
  4. Add a marker, bands or sleeve text if you like
  5. Export the STL or 3MF and keep the parts together in the slicer

A-Maze-Ring pros

  • Click walls in the flat maze editor to design your own route, with a live 3D preview
  • US ring size list from 3 to 13.5 with the inside diameter shown in mm
  • 3MF keeps maze walls, rings and raised decorations as separate named parts for multi-filament prints

A-Maze-Ring cons

  • New one-person project with no track record; fit was tuned on one printer with PLA, so plan a test print
  • The 3MF parts overlap slightly, and the author asks for a slicer check before a multicolor print
  • Page stays blank for a few seconds while it loads, and text comes in one bold font only
