Puzzle Maker For Kids is a free MakerWorld customizer by historicc that turns the text you type into an inset puzzle: a board with cut-outs and loose pieces that drop back in. It runs an OpenSCAD file through MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker, so you work in a web form instead of a CAD program. Besides names, it handles whole alphabets, numbers and simple shapes.

In the form you type your text, and every comma starts a new line, so "A,B,C" gives three rows. You pick the font, size and style, then set letter spacing, line alignment (left, center or evenly spaced), extra padding for fonts whose letters reach past the board edge, and horizontal or vertical offsets to nudge the text. Nine SVG slots let you upload simple icons such as a heart and place them in the text with codes like {3}. Color settings give a preview of the finished print. You download a 3MF, click Split to Objects in your slicer and lay out the pieces; the designer's print profiles print the board and pieces by object in four or five PLA colors.

With close to 500 likes and more than 3,200 customizations, it suits parents and teachers who want a name, alphabet or shape puzzle with more layout control than a plain name board.

How to use Puzzle Maker For Kids

1. Sign in to MakerWorld in a computer browser, open the model and click Customize
2. Type your text, using commas for new lines and codes like {1} for uploaded SVG shapes
3. Pick the font, size, alignment and board padding, and check the color preview
4. Download the 3MF and use Split to Objects in your slicer to arrange board and pieces
5. Print the board and pieces by object in the colors you like
