What is Lightbox Name Generator?

Lightbox Name Generator is a free MakerWorld customizer that turns a name or short word into a small light box whose outline follows the letters like a rounded cloud. It makes two parts: a hollow body with a round hole in the back for LED wiring, and a flat lid that carries the name. It runs in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker, so you fill in a form instead of editing OpenSCAD code.

You type the text, pick a font and set the text size, the box depth and the LED hole diameter. Expert fields move the hole and change the base and name layer thickness. A flat base option keeps the box upright when the name has letters like g or j, and a fill option closes the gap that spaces or symbols leave at the bottom. Preview mode shows the text face up; switch to print mode before exporting so the lid lies face down for a clean first layer. The name sits in a 0.8 mm layer that you color with the paint bucket in Bambu Studio.

How to use Lightbox Name Generator

1. Open the model page in a desktop browser, sign in to MakerWorld and click Customize
2. Type the name, choose a font and set text size, depth and LED hole diameter
3. Set mode to print, turn on flat base if needed, then generate and export
4. Paint the name in a second color in Bambu Studio and print both parts
5. Feed an LED strip or string lights through the hole in the back and close the lid
