What is PlantXYZ Pot Generator?

PlantXYZ Pot Generator is a browser tool that designs a plant pot to your exact size and sells the printable file for a small license fee. You choose one of 13 designs, from the plain Simple and classic Terracotta shapes to textured ones such as Ripple, Tiled, Pineapple, Basket and the rock-like Rocky, then set width, height and depth in millimeters. A 3D preview updates as you change things, and red zones on the size sliders mark values that would make a pot too thin or stretched.

Most designs have extra settings: the number of twists, ripples, rows, bumps or sides, a random seed for Rocky, or up to 20 characters of text around the rim of the WhatChaMaCallIt pot. Herbie makes a row of small herb pots for a windowsill and Window box a long trough. A separate saucer adds drainage holes and water channels to the pot base, and an internal chamber lets extra water collect below the soil. The sizes you enter cover the pot and saucer together.

Designing and previewing are free. To get the file you enter your name, email and a license key bought on Ko-fi or Etsy. A Ko-fi key lasts 1, 3 or 7 days and covers as many pots as you like in that time. Each pot is emailed as a download link to a 3MF file that works for about a month. It suits plant owners who want a pot that fits one exact spot.

1. Open the Pot Generator and pick a pot type
2. Set width, height and depth in mm and adjust the design options
3. Switch on the saucer or internal chamber if you want them
4. Enter your name, email and a license key bought on Ko-fi or Etsy
5. Download the 3MF from the emailed link and slice it
