What is Spectrum Forge?

Spectrum Forge turns a photo into a multicolor 3MF built for four filaments. It was made for the Snapmaker U1 toolchanger, but it has presets for the Bambu X1C and P1S, Prusa XL, Prusa MK4 with MMU3, Snapmaker Artisan and J1, and a generic printer. You set four filament slots with their colors and TD values, or tap one of nine palettes (grayscale, sepia, sunset, portrait and others), and an AI Eye button suggests a palette from the photo.

There are three print strategies. Height (HueForge) mode lets color follow the layer stack, so it works with manual filament swaps on any printer. Toolchanger Paint lets color change within a layer for toolchanger and AMS printers. Backlit Litho makes a color lithophane in fixed shapes: a 152 mm square, a 4x6 card or a 2.25 or 1.5 inch disc. You also set the number of layers, width, base height and an image enhance style. The 3MF has the filament colors baked in and comes with a short readme on opening it as a project.

The page needs no account and the first export is free; after that each export costs 40 ink, the credit used across the Inkwell site, with a monthly free allowance per device and a magic-link email sign-in to buy more. Files can be large: a small test image gave a 52 MB 3MF. We found no terms on selling prints; the Legal and Terms link did not load. It suits toolchanger and AMS owners who want a quick color print from a photo.
