Image Online's Image to STL page turns a picture into a solid STL in one of three styles. Relief raises the light parts, for nameplates, medallions and carved-looking panels. Lithophane makes dark parts thicker and switches the preview to a backlit view. Extrude cuts a logo or silhouette out at one threshold and stands it up with flat sides, with or without a backing plate.

You set width, depth, base thickness and mesh detail, and the panel shows the finished size and triangle count as you go. Further options drop a flat background, remove small islands, terrace heights into fixed levels, mirror the model and switch to inches. A Height from Color setting reads hue instead of brightness, from blue as the lowest to red as the highest, so differently colored letters can come out at different heights. The preview can be rotated and shown in the picture's colors, but the STL is a single solid.
