About 3dp.rocks Image to Lithophane
3dp.rocks Image to Lithophane is one of the oldest and best known lithophane converters in the hobby. It runs entirely in the browser: drop in one or more images, choose a form, adjust a few sliders and download an STL. There is no account, no upload queue and no paywall.
The tool offers eight forms: flat, inner curve, outer curve, solid cylinder, rectangular pillow, dome on top, dome on side and heart. Settings cover maximum size, thickness, border and minimum thickness, and a 3D view lets you inspect the model before saving it. The source code is public on GitHub under the MIT licence.
The interface looks dated, shows ads and has not changed much in recent years, but it still works and it is quick. It is a good pick when you just want a simple panel or curved lithophane without signing up for anything, or when you like the idea of a tool whose code you could read or host yourself.

A lithophane is only as good as the light passing through it. A neutral, evenly pigmented white gives smooth grey gradients, while an off-white or patchy batch shows up as blotches and colour casts once it is backlit.
