About this generator

nassworks' Custom Spacer / Standoff Generator makes spacers in the exact height and hole size an assembly needs, instead of the fixed sizes sold in stores. It is an OpenSCAD model that opens in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker through the Customize button.

You set the height, the body shape (round, hex or square), the body size and the hole with its fit, then pick an end: plain, flanged, counterbored or with a nut trap. A quantity and spacing setting lays out a set on one plate. The designer suggests measuring the face-to-face gap, the screw shaft, the outer clearance you have and the screw head or nut before you start, printing upright with 4 walls and no supports, and using PETG for mechanical parts.

It suits repairs and electronics projects. One commenter used it for spacers behind new wheels on a cooler, and another found it easy to customize from a phone browser. A third found that a size setting stops at 30 mm. You need a free MakerWorld account to customize and export it.
