What is Grille Generator by Koolm?
Grille Generator by Koolm is a free MakerWorld customizer that builds vent grilles, drain covers, pipe caps and blank covers to your own measurements. It runs in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker, so you set options in a form instead of editing the OpenSCAD script behind it. Since its release in September 2025 it has passed 33,000 customizations and 7,700 likes.
You start with the overall size, depth and corner rounding, then pick one of three types: slats that can be tilted to steer airflow, a mesh of repeated cutouts, or a solid plate that closes a hole off completely. Slat thickness, spacing and tilt can each be tuned, and mesh holes can change shape, spacing, stagger and rotation. For mounting you can add a press-fit insert that slides into a wall opening or a tube, a brim around the edge in a rectangle, hexagon or flower shape, and evenly spaced screw holes sized for ISO or UTS screws with a choice of head type.
It suits anyone replacing a lost vent cover, capping a pipe or adding airflow to a cabinet or enclosure. You need a MakerWorld account to open the customizer and download, and the Standard Digital File License does not allow selling prints unless you pay for Koolm's membership.

- Choose slats, mesh or solid and tune the spacing or pattern
