What is Hole Cover Cap - Customizable?
Hole Cover Cap is a free MakerWorld customizer by Nagy that runs in the browser and makes push-in end caps and plugs for open tubes, posts and holes. You measure the opening, type in the hole length and width, then set the size of the flat cap that sits on top. Ribs along the plug help it grip the inside of the hole.
Beyond the basic sizes you can change the cap height, corner radius and edge chamfer, the plug height and wall thickness, and the width, thickness and spacing of the ribs. The plug can be one closed wall or split into four walls with a gap you choose. There is no shape menu: for a round cap you make length and width equal and set the corner radius to half the width, and the same trick with unequal sides gives a pill shape. The model page gives example numbers for both, plus a labeled diagram of the settings.
It has been customized more than 18,000 times, and comments mention caps for a kiln cart, a wood rack and the holes in an old car. The designer suggests PETG for anything that sits in a hot car, since PLA can soften. You need a MakerWorld account and, ideally, a pair of calipers.
