About this generator
[FLAT] Articulated Finger Extensions is a free MakerWorld customizer by ShugyoPrint that builds jointed finger extensions you wear over your own fingers. Linkages and control shafts pass the bend of your real finger on to the added segments, so the extension curls when you curl your finger. It went live in July 2026, has been customized more than 17,000 times and received an Excellent Participation Award in MakerWorld's Exoskeleton & Articulated Mechanism Challenge.
Click Customize and the OpenSCAD generator opens in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker. You measure your finger (base length, width, thickness and tip length), set the lengths of the middle and end segments, and tick Thumb for a two-segment version. Advanced fields cover wall thickness, pin size and clearances. A render mode shows the assembled finger, with an X-ray cut to check the joints, before you switch to a flat print layout with supports designed into the parts.
The hinges are built into the parts and the pieces join with press-in pins. The frame is kept thin so you can add your own decorative covers. It suits cosplayers and makers who enjoy a small mechanical build.

[FLAT] Articulated Finger Extensions pros
- Every part, gears included, scales from your own finger measurements
- Assembled and X-ray previews let you check the range of motion before printing
- Hinges are built into the parts and supports are part of the layout, which keeps assembly short
[FLAT] Articulated Finger Extensions cons
- Needs careful measuring and some trial and error with clearances; the designer calls it somewhat complex
- The settings describe one finger, so a full hand takes several separate runs
- Some makers report a small connector hook snapping or the built-in supports fusing, so expect to reprint a part or switch to slicer supports
