What is Button Generator (WardCons)?

Button Generator is a free MakerWorld customizer by WardCons that makes sewing buttons, such as a match for one lost from a coat. It runs in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker, so you fill in a form and never see the code. You pick a shape, enter the diameter or width in millimeters, then set the thickness and the width of the rim around the edge. After that you choose how many thread holes you want, how wide they are and whether the pattern lines up with the corners or with the sides.

The shape list covers circle, ellipse, square, rectangle, triangle, pentagon, hexagon, heart, star and a regular polygon where you set the number of sides. Two experimental modes add a supershape driven by five numbers and a random mode that picks those numbers for you. The random values show on screen but are not saved in the file, so write them down if you want the same button again. The creator warns that some supershape and random results will not work as buttons, and shares a print profile with 0.12 mm layers and ironing on top.

It suits people mending clothes and costume makers who need an odd size or shape. Check the size before you print a full set: in May 2026 a user found that a 10 mm setting came out at about 11.5 mm, and the creator confirmed a bug. You need a free MakerWorld account to generate and download the 3MF.
