What is Propeller Generator by Koolm?
Propeller Generator by Koolm is a free MakerWorld customizer that turns a handful of numbers into a printable propeller, fan or rotor. It comes from the maker of the well-known gear, screw and spring generators and has passed 21,000 customizations and 2,500 likes since it went up in September 2025.
You start with the basics: number of blades, overall diameter, spin direction, root size and pitch. From there you can shape the blades with elliptical, linear or constant taper, pick NACA 4-digit airfoils that thin out from root to tip, and add sweep, a root fairing, a spinner, a shroud ring and a hub with a shaft hole. Four example setups for an RC plane prop, a PC fan, a pullcopter and a toy boat list their settings, so you can copy one as a starting point.
It suits RC hobbyists, tinkerers and anyone replacing a fan or toy prop. There are a lot of settings, and values like chord fraction make more sense if you know a little aerodynamics. The author's example prints use PETG with full infill, supports and a raft, with a reminder to test spinning props with care. The script is shared under CC BY-NC-SA, so selling prints is not allowed.

Propeller Generator by Koolm pros
- Blades use real NACA 4-digit airfoils with elliptical taper, so they are meant to work, not just look right
- One form covers plane props, drone rotors, fans, pullcopters and boat screws
- Four example configurations with their settings listed to copy and adjust
Propeller Generator by Koolm cons
- Many settings, and terms like chord fraction and centerline take some reading
- Author's examples use 100% infill, supports and a raft, so expect cleanup and sanding
- Non-commercial license rules out selling the props you print
