About this generator
Customisable Propeller Generator is a free MakerWorld customizer that shapes propeller blades from NACA 4-digit airfoil profiles. It runs in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker, so you change values in a form instead of editing OpenSCAD code, and you get a printable file back once you are signed in. The creator built it on Amatulic's elliptical-blade NACA propeller library from Thingiverse, with a few changes for different prop types.
You set the NACA airfoil, diameter, pitch, blade count and hub, and a second version of the file adds resolution settings that help small props come out smooth. Blade thickness follows the airfoil: the last two digits of the NACA code give thickness as a share of blade width. Commenters have made 30 mm micro drone props, RC plane props and a replacement prop for a toy, and one ready print profile holds four 5.1 inch three-blade FPV props, two for each spin direction.
It suits RC hobbyists and tinkerers who need a prop in an unusual size. Expect some trial and error, as there are many values and the creator suggests experimenting to learn what each one does. The creator also recommends 100% infill, sanding and balancing before a printed prop goes on a motor.
What you can make
- RC airplane propellers
- FPV drone props
- Micro drone props
- RC boat propellers
How to use Customisable Propeller Generator
- Open the model on MakerWorld, sign in and click Customize
- Pick a file; the second one adds resolution settings
- Set the NACA code, diameter, pitch, blades and hub
- Generate, download the STL or 3MF and print at 100% infill
- Sand and balance the prop before mounting it

Customisable Propeller Generator pros
- Blades follow real NACA airfoil shapes instead of flat plates
- Diameter, pitch, blade count and hub are all adjustable
- Ready profile with 5.1 inch FPV props in both spin directions
Customisable Propeller Generator cons
- Many values and little written guidance; commenters ask about units and hole sizes
- Props need sanding and balancing, and shallow pitches are hard to print
- Needs a MakerWorld account, and the license bars sharing or selling your props
