About this generator
Paws & Parts Print-in-Place Chain Generator is a free browser tool that builds chains whose links print already joined and need no supports. As of September 2026 it was the only design in Paws & Parts, a small hobby app by the maker Jas (jsmnbom), which runs on your own computer. The first visit downloads about 41 MB to set up the CAD engine, then each change rebuilds the 3D preview.
You start from one of four presets: Default, Smol (jewelry scale with mouse-ear brims), Pretty or Large. Then you set the number of links (the slider goes to 200 and you can type up to 500) and pick a straight line or a flat spiral that fits a long chain on one plate. You can also change the link outline, the cross-section from four to twelve sides, and the link length, width and thickness. A printability panel checks bed contact, the gap between links and how far they lean. Copy link keeps your settings in the web address, and you export a 3MF or STEP file.
It needs no account. It is also new, and the author has mostly test-printed it in ABS on a Voron, so print a short chain first. It suits anyone who wants a decorative or sturdy chain in their own size without modeling one.

Paws & Parts Print-in-Place Chain Generator pros
- Four presets give a working chain in one click, from jewelry size to heavy links
- Spiral layout fits long chains on one plate, and Copy link saves your settings in the URL
- Built-in check warns about weak bed contact, touching links and too much lean before you export
Paws & Parts Print-in-Place Chain Generator cons
- First load downloads about 41 MB and compiles the CAD engine, which takes a while
- Exports 3MF or STEP only, no STL
- New, with few community prints as of September 2026, and it depends on well-tuned bridging
