Favorite Filament Sample is a free MakerWorld customizer that makes a labeled swatch card for each filament you own. Made by GlennovitS 3D, the card carries the brand, color name and material type in raised text, plus a strip of five steps from 0.2 to 1 mm thick that shows how see-through the filament gets as the wall gets thinner. It has been customized more than 95,000 times.

Click Customize and the OpenSCAD file opens in MakerWorld's Parametric Model Maker. You pick the material, brand, series and color from long dropdown lists (the designer counts 60+ colors and 15+ brands) or type your own words, then set the text size and style. If you want, you can also change the card's length, height, thickness, corner radius and border. A spare text field holds an extra note, such as a print temperature. Downloading needs a free MakerWorld account. If you would rather not use the customizer, the ready-made print profiles let you edit the text in Bambu Studio.

It suits anyone building a color library of their spools. Comments from April 2026 say the customizer's 3MF can come with an unwanted second color, which you fix in the slicer or avoid by downloading the STL. The designer also publishes matching storage boxes as separate models.

1. Open the model on MakerWorld and click Customize
2. Pick the material, brand, series and color, or type your own
3. Adjust text size, text style or card size if you want
4. Sign in, generate the card and download the STL or 3MF
5. Print the card in the filament it describes at 0.2 mm layer height
