What is Hinge Generator (Maochen)?
Hinge Generator is a free MakerWorld customizer by Maochen that makes screw-on leaf hinges in the size you need, printed in one piece with the pin already inside. It runs on a Fusion file in MakerWorld's Customize panel, so no CAD is needed. Since it went up in December 2025 it has been customized more than 20,000 times and has over 6,000 likes.
A labeled photo on the page shows what each of the eight settings controls: hinge length, width and thickness, knuckle outer diameter, pin diameter, screw hole diameter, and the spacing between the holes in both directions. The four screw holes are countersunk. The author says the pin gap is fixed at 0.3 mm, so a hinge that sticks after printing may need a firm first bend. Updates in May and June 2026 let the leaves fold back to 270 degrees, now also on hinges 3 mm thick or less. For common sizes, seven sample hinges from 30 by 40 mm up to 102 by 80 mm come as STL files with a Bambu print profile.
It is free with a MakerWorld account, but the MakerWorld Exclusive License does not allow selling the prints. It suits anyone fixing a cabinet, adding a lid to a box or building a jig with a hinge that fits their screws.
