What is Thread Generator by Koolm?

Thread Generator by Koolm is a free MakerWorld customizer that makes a threaded rod with a matching nut. Koolm's Screw Generator covers standard fasteners with heads and drives; this one is for plain rods and lead screws in thread shapes that are hard to find ready-made: triangular ISO/UTS, trapezoidal, ACME, buttress and square. Under the hood it is an OpenSCAD script built on the BOSL2 library, but you only work with a form.

You pick the thread type, then set the diameter, pitch, rod length, number of starts and left- or right-hand direction, with an optional blunt start so the thread begins cleanly. The nut can be hex, square or round, with its own thickness, bevel and printing clearance, and the rod has an optional split setting meant to help with printing. Version 1.1 added the round nut and an outer chamfer. The author's sample print uses 0.08 mm layers and 40% infill for a better fit and more strength.
