What is Obloid Spinning Top Generator?

Obloid Spinning Top Generator is a browser tool that turns a few sliders into a printable totem-style spinning top: a tall body with a flat disc rim and a thin stem you twirl between your palms. You set the height (40 to 120 mm), the width, the rim disc height, the stem height and thickness, and the radius of the small ball at the tip (0.8 to 3.5 mm). A live 3D preview and a readout show the finished size, an upper PLA weight, the tip cone angle and where the top balances.

The model is always split into three parts: a top half, a bottom half and a short threaded stud that screws the halves together after printing. Every part is laid out flat face down, and the tip prints last on the bottom half instead of the whole top standing on a point. You pick one color and export a Bambu/Orca 3MF, which Obloid says comes with 40% concentric infill, 4 walls and 0.12 mm layers already set, a generic 3MF or an STL.

Exports need a free sign-in, and each Obloid tool includes three free exports before a paid plan is needed. It suits anyone after a quick desk toy, and makers who like tuning a top for longer spins.

What you can make

  • Totem-style spinning tops
  • Three-part tops joined by a threaded stud
  • Small desk toys

How to use Obloid Spinning Top Generator

  1. Open the Spinning Top page on obloid.app
  2. Set height, width, rim, stem and tip ball size with the sliders
  3. Check the size, weight and balance readout and pick a color
  4. Sign in and export the Bambu/Orca 3MF, a generic 3MF or an STL
  5. Print the three parts without supports and screw the halves together with the stud

Obloid Spinning Top Generator pros

  • The three-part split with a threaded stud avoids printing the whole top on a fragile point
  • Live readout of size, PLA weight, tip cone angle and balance height updates as you drag the sliders
  • The page says the parts need no supports and the Bambu/Orca 3MF comes with infill, walls and 0.12 mm layers already set

Obloid Spinning Top Generator cons

  • Exports need an account, and only 3 per tool are free
  • Only the totem-style shape, with no text or engraving options
  • Single-color output only
