About this generator

PrintMakerAI's Lithophane Generator turns a JPEG, PNG or WebP photo (up to 10 MB) into a flat lithophane panel. The photo is converted to grayscale and each pixel becomes a thickness: dark areas print thick and block light, bright areas print thin and glow when backlit.

The form has five settings: width in millimeters (100 by default), the thinnest point (0.6 mm) and thickest point (2.8 mm), resolution in millimeters per pixel (0.25), and a solid border width (3 mm, or 0 to turn it off), plus an invert option for negative-style panels. The result is a single watertight STL with the reinforcing frame. The page recommends white or natural PLA at 100% infill, printed standing up. Frames, stands and light boxes are not part of this tool; the page points to PrintMakerAI's AI editor for those.

It is free with no login and no watermark, and the photo is deleted after processing. Generation runs on the server and is limited to 5 per hour.
