About this generator

3D MakerBench's Lithophane Maker turns a photo into a printable lithophane and shows it backlit before you download the STL. It runs on your own device, free and without signing up, and you can drop or paste a JPG, PNG or WebP.

It covers a lot of shapes. Flat panels come as a rectangle, heart, circle, hexagon, star, oval, arch, diya or Christmas tree, with an optional caption and raised frame. There are also curved frames, lamp shades, a night light box with a different photo on each of its four sides, and keychains. The photo moon lamp puts your picture on the front of a moon that fades into real craters, either on an LED stand with a cable slot or hanging from a lamp holder in two pieces with a snap-in cap, with hole sizes given for E27 and E14 holders.

The page gives practical print advice, such as 100% infill for the moon, a brim, and how far the base can be cut open before it needs supports. It suits photo gifts, from a simple panel to a lamp.
