What is VaseMaker?

VaseMaker is a detailed vase designer that runs in the browser. Where most vase generators give you a round shape with ribs, this one sweeps one of 29 cross-sections (heart, butterfly, gear, rose, teardrop, polygon, superformula and more) along a profile curve you edit point by point, and can morph from one shape at the bottom to another at the top.

On top of the shape you add one of 13 surface textures, such as fluting, Voronoi, noise, basket weave, stipple or your own SVG pattern, and you can punch a texture through the wall for a perforated lantern. Twist, wave twist and sway curves bend the vase, smooth zones keep the base and rim clean, and the shell settings cover base and wall thickness, a flat or rounded rim and a smooth inner wall. Designs save and load as small JSON files, and you can capture a PNG or JPG render.

Two extra tools sit next to it. MoldMaker turns your vase into a printable master and cottle for a plaster slip-casting mold, with shrink allowance and a plaster estimate, and HandleMaker designs a cup handle with a two-part plaster mold. Everything exports as STL. It is free with no account; the code is MIT licensed, which says nothing about selling prints. It suits people who want unusual vase shapes, and potters who cast in slip.

How to use VaseMaker

1. Pick a starting vase or set the bottom and top shapes
2. Edit the profile curve and add a texture and twist
3. Set the wall, base and rim
4. Export the STL, or open MoldMaker for a casting mold
