What is BuildYour3D?

BuildYour3D is a browser configurator run by a small German print shop that turns about 200 parametric part templates into custom STL files. You pick a model, fill in a short form with measurements or text, and the server builds a preview image with the overall dimensions. Most of the range is practical workshop hardware: gears, timing pulleys and sprockets, threaded nuts and BSPP or NPT fittings, vacuum hose and pipe adapters, brackets, mounting plates, vent grilles, electronics enclosures and drawer organizers. A handful of personal items round it out, such as name signs, pet tags, a WiFi QR stand and a wave vase.

The preview costs nothing, but the file does. Each STL costs between 1.49 and 7.49 EUR depending on the model, paid by card or PayPal with just an email address, and the download link stays valid for 30 days. If you have no printer, the shop can quote, print and ship the part instead. The same site also runs separate photo relief, city block and STL painting tools.

It suits DIYers and repairers who need one odd-sized adapter or spare part and would rather pay a few euros than learn CAD. Expect some untranslated German text on the English pages, and previews that take around half a minute to build.

How to use BuildYour3D

1. Open the configurator and pick a model from the list
2. Enter your measurements or text in the form fields
3. Click Create my 3D model and check the preview and overall size
4. Pay for the STL to get a download link by email, or ask for a print price instead
5. Slice the STL and print a short test piece to check the fit
