About this generator

Designer Bee Clock Hands Generator is a free browser tool that designs the hour, minute and second hands of a wall or desk clock and exports them as an STL. It is part of Designer Bee, a one-person site of beginner maker tools; its companion clock face tool only exports laser SVG, so the face itself is not a print file.

You start from one of four presets (Classic, Modern, Heritage or Sharp). Under Advanced Design each hand gets its own settings: seven tip shapes such as baton, sword, spade, leaf and arrow, a length of 10 to 120 mm, a width and a tail that acts as a counterweight. Any hand can be switched off. In 3D printing mode you set a thickness of 1 to 10 mm, watch a 3D preview of the set, and download one STL with every enabled hand laid flat and spaced apart. The same page can export an SVG for laser cutting instead.

The shaft hole is one round size shared by all three hands, while a typical quartz movement needs a much larger hole for the hour hand than for the minute and second hands. Plan on exporting each hand on its own with its own hole size. It suits clock builders, repair jobs and makerspace classes that want a quick custom set.

What you can make

  • Hour, minute and second clock hands
  • Replacement hands for quartz clock movements
  • Hand sets to match a custom clock face
  • Laser-cut hand sets as SVG

How to use Designer Bee Clock Hands Generator

  1. Open the Clock Hands Generator and pick a preset
  2. Switch to 3D Printing (STL) and set the hand thickness and shaft hole
  3. Open Advanced Design to change shape, length, width and counterweight per hand, or switch hands off
  4. Download the STL, which holds all enabled hands laid flat
  5. Slice, print and press the hands onto your clock movement

Designer Bee Clock Hands Generator pros

  • Seven hand shapes and four presets, with length, width and counterweight set per hand
  • Shaft hole (1 to 8 mm) and hand thickness (1 to 10 mm) are adjustable, with a 3D preview
  • Free with no signup, and the same design also exports as a laser SVG

Designer Bee Clock Hands Generator cons

  • One round shaft-hole size for all hands, so a proper fit means exporting each hand separately
  • Holes are round only, while I-shaft quartz movements fit the minute hand with an oblong hole
  • Hands are plain flat extrusions with square edges, and the site is new, with no community track record as of September 2026
