What is TrayGen?

TrayGen is a free browser tool that plans Gridfinity baseplates for a whole drawer. You enter the drawer's inside width and depth in mm, then pick your printer from 28 presets (Bambu Lab, Prusa, Creality, Elegoo, Anycubic, Voron and others) or type a custom bed size. It works out how many grid cells fit, where the grid sits, and how to split it into plates your printer can handle.

Two things set it apart. Before you print the real plates, it has you print thin fit-test strips across the width and depth, with the last strip offered in 1 mm steps from -5 to +5 mm. You keep the one that slides in without forcing or rattling and enter that offset. The outer plates also get solid strips that fill the leftover margin, so the finished base reaches the drawer walls instead of sliding around. A separate Bins page lets you drag out bin footprints on the same grid, pick a height (Low, Med, Tall or custom) and a wall style (straight, front drop or scoop), and stack several layers.

Plates and bins are built on TrayGen's server and download as ZIP files of STLs after a short wait. It suits anyone who wants a snug drawer insert without working out the margins by hand.
