About this generator

Wave Parametric Device Stand is a free MakerWorld customizer by designer jorm that makes a vertical desk stand with one to four slots sized to your own devices. It holds a closed laptop, tablet, e-reader, phone, keyboard or Steam Deck upright, and each divider can have its own height, which gives it the curved wave look. It is a fully adjustable rework of the designer's earlier Wave laptop stand.

After clicking Customize you pick the one, two, three or four slot version. Each slot width can be set from 5 to 30 mm in half-millimeter steps, each divider height from 30 to 150 mm, and the stand thickness from about 5 to 8 mm for heavy gaming laptops. The designer suggests measuring each device with its case on and adding 1 to 2 mm of room. If the customizer does not work for you, for example on a phone, there are ready print profiles with 15, 17, 20 and 25 mm slots, plus the Fusion source files.

Since it went up in July 2026 it has been customized more than 25,000 times and liked about 3,500 times. A two-slot stand uses roughly 180 g of filament in the posted profiles. It suits anyone who wants a tidy spot on the desk for a closed laptop and a tablet that fits their exact devices.

Wave - Parametric Device Stand pros

  • Every slot width and every divider height is its own field, so each device gets a snug slot
  • Stand thickness can be raised for heavy laptops, an option added in August 2026 after a user reported flex
  • Ready profiles with 15, 17, 20 and 25 mm slots and the Fusion source files cover people who cannot use the customizer

Wave - Parametric Device Stand cons

  • Slots top out at 30 mm, and one commenter needed 34 mm for a thick laptop
  • The 4-slot version can produce a broken rear curve with some width combinations; the designer's workaround is the Fusion file
  • Needs a MakerWorld login, and the free license rules out selling prints
