What is Any Box Generator?

Any Box Generator is a free MakerWorld customizer by lorenz that builds a box and matching lid to your own measurements. You set the width, depth and height plus the wall thickness, and the fit tolerances come preset for most current printers. The outside can stay plain or take one of twelve textures, from ribs, stripes and hexagons to open gyroid and hex scaffold patterns.

The lid can hang on a pin hinge that uses a piece of filament as the pin, a print-in-place hinge or a snap hinge, or it can sit loose with no hinge. It stays closed with a snap rim, a printed latch or magnets in a size you choose. Lid shape settings cover a sloped parting line and rounded edges, and dividers plus a Gridfinity-compatible base make it useful for drawers too.

Large boxes and round or complex textures take longer to build, and MakerWorld stops any job that runs past 30 seconds, so lower the resolution setting or pick a simpler texture if that happens. It is free with a MakerWorld account and has been customized more than 35,000 times since December 2025. Selling the boxes needs a commercial license from the designer.
