What is Gridfinity Extended Generators?

Gridfinity Extended Generators is a free browser tool that puts ostat's open-source Gridfinity Extended OpenSCAD scripts behind fill-in forms with a live 3D preview. The start page lists 17 generators. OpenSCAD runs inside your browser to build each model, so there is nothing to install and no account to make. When the preview looks right, you save it as an STL.

The basic bin page alone has 157 settings in 16 groups: size in 42 mm grid units or millimeters, dividers, label slots, magnet and screw holes, finger slides, sliding lids, wall cut-outs and wall patterns such as hexagons, Voronoi, brick and kumiko. Other generators make baseplates that can be split into pieces for your print bed, lids, trays, a chest with drawers, silverware bins sized from your own utensils, socket holders, marble run blocks and a Gridfinity chess set. The item holder has presets for hex bits, router bits, batteries, coin cells, memory cards and game cartridges.

Your settings are stored in the page address, so a design can be bookmarked or shared, and named profiles can be saved in your browser. Field labels are the raw script names, which looks technical, but most carry a one-line explanation. It suits Gridfinity users who want exact-fit parts without a MakerWorld login.

How to use Gridfinity Extended Generators

1. Open the site and pick a generator, such as gridfinity_basic_cup
2. Set width and depth in grid units and the height
3. Add dividers, labels, magnet holes or a wall pattern and let Auto Render update the preview
4. Click Save STL
5. Slice and print, adding magnets or screws if you enabled them
