What is IsoCoaster?
IsoCoaster designs coasters and trivets with an isogrid or hexgrid pattern: a lattice of ribs at 0, 60 and 120 degrees, or hexagons, cut into a solid disc. It runs in the browser and is free. You pick one of six shapes (circle, square, pentagon, hexagon and more) and the diameter, the cell size, rib width and corner fillet, and whether a cell or a node sits at the center; optional holes at the nodes add a finishing touch.
Under relief and depth you set the total thickness, how deep the pattern goes and the hole depth, and the edges of the rim and pockets can get a chamfer or a fillet. A live 3D preview shows the result, with the cell count, open area and polygon count, and you can save the whole design as a JSON file to load later.
Exports cover STL and 3MF for printing, a STEP file for CAD and SVG or DXF outlines for laser cutting. The 3MF can be sent straight to Bambu Studio, and an add-in builds it as a parametric model in Autodesk Fusion. The app also shows hints for CNC milling, so the same design works on a router. It suits anyone who wants a good-looking geometric coaster or trivet in a few minutes.
